And she's off!

After praying, begging, and bargaining for bike weather, Isabella took to riding her new bike a week ago. She's a big girl on her two wheeler (with training wheels attached.) She started out biking under the lights on the town square. Okay, it's not really quite a town square, but what would you call that space they built downtown? Since then she's been biking everywhere she can... the front walk, Sharon Woods, the condo plaza, and finally today, the "green park." She managed to bike the ENTIRE way around the lake loop. Up and down the hills. Jeff pointed out, way back when, when I first got a mountain bike, that there aren't mountains, or even hills for that matter, in Ohio. But to a five year old, there are hills at the green park. And she mastered them! At some points on the flat parts of the trail, she rode so quickly that Luke and I had to jog to keep up with her. It's an odd feeling, a mix of excitement and pure fear, to have your baby powering ahead just out of arm's reach. But as she's quick to remind me, I have to let her go.

Still, she calls for me when the world gets a little too big too fast, and that's just fine by me.
